threestooges2Jim Carrey and the Farrelly Brothers join ventures for the third time (Dumber and Dumber, Me Myself and Irene) in this upcoming film about the three Stooges, Larry, Moe and Curly, which also stars Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro.

The film is set to start shooting in the fall 2009 for release before christmas 2010, but the Farrelly Brothers have been working on this project since they got the rights to film it in 2001.threestooges

Originally they inteded to shoot 4 short sequences about the Stooges adventures but the script has now developed into a full-lenght feature that is said to be an 2010 update on how the Stooges would do in today’s world.

The Farrelly Brothers refer to the the movie as “Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest” and it has been said that Jim Carrey will have to gain 20 pounds for the role of Curly.

    Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Carrey would be a better Moe Horwitz. Penn looks the role of Larry Fine. They should have gotten Andrew Zimmern to play Jerome Horwitz.
